First Warley Scout Group is based in Brentwood, Essex, UK. In August 2015 our wonderful Scout Headquarters - Eagle Hall - was unfortunately completely destroyed in a large fire. Luckily no one was injured in the fire, but in addition to losing the building, we also lost virtually all of our stores and equipment.
Although we had adequate insurance cover, the rising cost of building materials and labour, and delays in the project have meant we are now facing a significant funding shortfall in our plan to rebuild. In addition, we wish to improve the security of the new building with additions such as CCTV and a strong security fence to try and ensure such an event does not happen to us again.
This means we need your support. Every penny counts, so even if you can only donate £2 that would be a great help for us.
STATUS UPDATE (July 2017)
We have submitted planning applications to the local council for the new building. Assuming all is approved, we are aiming to go out to local builders for quotations sometime in the near future.
